Feet in the Time of Lockdown
One of the more obscure positive side effects of lockdown has been a physical one. When I first started my yoga teacher training we spent time talking about grounding, about spreading your feet and having the control to place each toe down one at a time.
Over the last 100 days I have hardly worn shoes, working from home has giving my feet an opportunity to breath, practicing toe control and grounding through my feet at opportune moments like waiting for the kettle to boil, feeling the connection between the ground beneath me and the soles of my feet.
My feet have changed shape, my toes have spread out because they aren't scrunched up inside shoes and I feel better connected. It seems like a small thing, but it really has changed my practice, it might have changed yours too.
